First we calculate your time cost, add direct costs and overhead, then include the contingency allowance. We then find a price that covers the payment fee and leaves your chosen margin. A 30% margin is not the same as adding 30% to costs.
Cost = (hours × hourly cost + direct costs + overhead) × (1 + contingency/100)
Price = (cost + fixed fee) ÷ (1 − fee/100 − margin/100)
Price = (cost + fixed fee) ÷ (1 − fee/100 − margin/100)
Assumes one currency and one payment, with a payment fee on the pre-tax price. Amounts are shown to two decimals; the price is rounded up. Example fees are illustrative, not the rates of Lemon Squeezy or any other provider. Taxes, electronic invoicing and local tax rules are not calculated.

Pro runs only on 64-bit Windows and ships as a portable folder without a code signature. Pro and the toolkit do not share data with each other. There is no cloud or sync: your quotes stay on your computer. The acceptance block adds signature lines; it is not an electronic signature. The deposit is shown in the document; nothing collects payments.

Freelancers and small businesses quoting services by project: design, web, consulting, content, video or translation, among others. It is not an invoicing or accounting system.
Can I use it in my country?
The calculator is available without registration and uses one currency per project. Pro + toolkit is sold through Lemon Squeezy in its supported countries, subject to available payment methods. Availability and taxes are confirmed at checkout; the calculator does not apply your local tax rules.
Does changing currency convert my figures?
No. It changes the displayed unit without changing the numbers. Enter all costs in the same currency. For example, if you switch from USD to EUR, you need to update the relevant amounts yourself.
What does “your hourly cost” mean?
It is your internal time cost before the profit you want to add. Using a rate that already includes that same margin could count it twice. Examples explain how the tool works; they do not set the rates you should charge.
What do I receive, and how do I start?
Two ZIP files in your Lemon Squeezy order: MargenClaro Pro for Windows and the toolkit. For Pro, extract the ZIP to a folder and open "MargenClaro Pro.exe"; the START-HERE file walks you through each step. For the toolkit, start with LEEME-README.txt. No MargenClaro account is needed.
Does Pro install anything?
No. It is a portable folder: you extract it and open the program. It does not change Windows settings. To remove it, delete the folder; your quotes stay separately in your user folder until you delete them.
Windows shows a warning when I open Pro. Is that normal?
Yes. The app is new and not code-signed, and SmartScreen warns about programs without an established reputation. Only continue if you downloaded the ZIP from your Lemon Squeezy order or receipt. You do not need to turn off SmartScreen, Defender or your antivirus. If in doubt, write to us before opening it.
Does it run on Mac, Linux or a phone?
Pro runs only on Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. The downloadable toolkit runs on any computer with a modern desktop browser. There is no Mac, Linux or phone version.
Where are my quotes stored in Pro?
On your computer, inside your Windows user folder. The “Your data” panel in the app shows the path, and its “Show data folder” button opens the folder; Help › About MargenClaro Pro also shows the path. There is no cloud or sync. To back up, copy that folder. It contains client details and your internal costs: keep it to yourself.
Does the PDF show my costs or margin?
No. The client document carries only what the client should see: price, tax if you set one, total, deposit and balance if you use them, scope, revisions, exclusions and terms. Hours, costs, fees, margin and scenarios stay in the app.
Does Pro export to Excel?
Yes. Export a formatted client quote in Excel, with scope, terms, price, deposit and balance. Your costs and margin are excluded. A separate data-table export is available for your own records. Microsoft Excel is not required to create these files; use an XLSX-compatible app to open them.
Does Pro issue invoices or calculate taxes?
No. A quote is a commercial offer, not an invoice. You enter the tax percentage and name if one applies; MargenClaro does not check tax rules and does not give legal or accounting advice.
I already bought the toolkit. What happens to my purchase?
It is the same product. The new files become available in your Lemon Squeezy order, next to the toolkit you already had.
Is there a subscription or a fee per quote?
No. US$19 before tax is a one-time payment to use Pro and the toolkit within one business and its team. You can deliver the PDF and Excel files you prepare to your clients. You cannot resell or redistribute the files.
Does the result guarantee a profit?
It is an estimate based on your inputs. Extra hours, unexpected costs, refunds or new fees change the result. Review actual costs and agree on the scope before starting work.
